Step 1

Add a charge from your estimate.

Enter one amount, or a low and high if the clinic gave you a range. Add more charges as needed.

This adds only what you enter. It is not a clinic quote or a prediction of your final bill.

Step 2 · Questions to ask

Take these to your veterinarian.

Start with these few questions. Your clinic can help you decide what is appropriate for your pet.

Add your pet and clinic name to the printout (optional)
Pet: ________________Clinic: ________________Date: ________________
  1. What specific question is this test intended to answer?

  2. Could the result change the treatment plan?

  3. If we may see a specialist later, will that specialist be able to use this test, scan, sample, or procedure—or might it need to be repeated using a different protocol?

  4. Could you confirm the preferred test or imaging protocol with the specialist before we proceed?

  5. What could cause this test or procedure to be repeated, and is there anything we can do now to reduce that chance?

A lower price is not always the safest choice. Use these questions to compare medically appropriate options with your veterinarian and specialists.

Privately share the estimate

Your evidence stays private

Help another family without publishing your document.

If you share an estimate, VetCare Index reviews it privately. Only eligible, normalized price observations may be published—not the original document or your personal information.
